Football In Rome

If Roma goes into this game without Francesco Totti than this may not be as bad a situation as a few individuals might think for the simple reason that Totti hardly plays well against huge sides in massive matches.

On the other hand, his influence on the side can't be discounted particularly at home and though he might not be a big factor physically, psychologically it may be a blow for Roma. The simplest way to explore the city of Rome is booking Ferienwohnungen Rom.

A larger miss for me is the strong running of Simone Perrotta that would be missed tonight as he's postponed for this tie and he was badly missed we=hen Roma was trounced last season as he also missed that game due to suspension.

I would be terribly surprised if Roma get thru this tie because Italian groups, AC Milan apart, of recent years appear to have issues with the English style of play particularly in midfield.

Italian teams always seem to wish to win matches with minimum effort and though they are technically superior, they appear to not put the required effort in some games.

Technically Roma can match United but what they cannot match them with is the velocity and aggression that players like Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo bring to the pitch. This is one of the reasons a Roma superiority over 2 legs is not likely.

Roma have been honored for their 2-legged success over Real Madrid but in the 2 legs, they were terribly lucky because in the first leg they might have been out of sight if not for some profligate finishing by the Spanish side.

By the following leg, Real had tons of key players out and Roma still rode their luck even if at the end of the match they played reasonably well. Roma have areas of difficulty so far as I am anxious as I do not think they've a top class goalkeeper.

Alexander Doni is a good goalkeeper but he's not top quality and he's extremely suspect in the air. He is also the only goalkeeper that I'll recall that gets hurt whenever he makes a good save and that isn't inspiring. Why not booking Rome Apartments.

They have issues in midfield because they don't have a bona fide holding midfielder as the majority of their midfielders are ball passing players with great technical ability but not enough steel. David Pizarro is an exceedingly huge weak link for me as he's one of those players that I would term as sumptuous.

I'd never accepted why players like Roberto Baggio or Gianfranco Zola were termed opulent players as they can produce a minute of sorcery to get you a goal at any time but Pizarro and Guti in my opinion can be called sumptuous as they are only handy if their teams are playing well.

They don't help defensively and Pizarro particularly isn't that handy in the attacking third particularly when he isn't playing well. He gives the ball away far too cheaply and against Manchester United, that could be deadly.

Roma aren't that bad at the back if Juan and Philip Mexes are in the beginning line-up but they don't seem to be as solid as United and in attack, they may have done with options than Totti and Mirko Vucinic.

Unless Roma play without fear and that has to come from executive Luciano Spalletti, who doesn't always get it right tactically, because of his being too cautious, and they take their probabilities when they come their way particularly in the first leg then I don't see them going thru.

There is not any doubt that they're sufficiently good to beat United but they have to believe that they can do it and I don't believe that they do because like most Italian groups away from home, they tend to wish to avoid defeat more than going all out to win.
