Discover Rome

If you intend to visit Italy on your next vacation, remember to spend a few days taking in the history and glamour of Rome. Besides being full of attractions that will take your breath away, Rome is one of the few towns in the world which merges history together with the modern. Art, design, paintings, monuments, historical wonders, a humming nightlife, top flight cuisine and friendly people- this town has it all. To paraphrase, Rome is certain to satisfy the curious learner and visitor in you and yet leave you wanting more of the Italian sorcery.

Three days in Rome is all you need to have a memorable experience. But like all trips, a planned itinerary, transport agreements, a camera and a lot of sun lotion is all that you need to go with you when you are sightseeing. And we endorse you to order one of the apartamentos roma to get the maximum out of the town. Here's an idea of the best way to plan your 3 days :

1. Day One - make a journey back in time and visit some of traditional Rome's famous monuments. Remember to visit the Roman Colosseum, which is an architectural wonder that correctly earns its place as one of the 7 wonders in the world, despite its bloody history. The Palatine Hill found close by is thought of as the original birthplace of Rome, and shortly became an important seat of political power. Have a look into traditional Roman life by going to the Roman Forum, which homes many ruins, old churches, frescoes, basilicas and arches. Spend a while admiring the famous Trevi Fountain completed in 1762 and which has served as a source of inspiration for many a poet and artist. As you enjoy a gelato, do not forget to toss a coin in the fountain. Legend has it that those that do, will return to Rome once again. The Pantheon is by far the best preserved building of traditional Rome that has survived the trial of time. Actually you could stop by this structure in the evening and then head off for drinks and a good dinner in the Piazza di Rotonda.

2. Day Two - Why not spend the day visiting some must see museums and a couple of other monuments? The Piazza Campo dei Fiori is a good way to start the day and is kind of close to the Santa Maria church found in Trestevere. The Jewish Ghetto that has a long agonizing history behind it was built in 1555 and is a standing affidavit to Jewish history and culture of the years gone by. Visit the Piazza Venezia designed by the great Michelangelo himself and which gives tourists a good view of the Roman Forum. The piazza is home to a few of the oldest museums in the world and the Piazza Nuova is home to many must-see Greek and Roman sculptures.

3. Day Three - The Romans were known for the roads they built and the thru Applia Antica is one such road which has been converted into a park. For your next stop, visit the famous burial grounds which are not just burial places but also good sites of Christian art. The right way to enjoy the environment is to hire a bike or take a walk ; that way you can enjoy the crypts and churches that surround this area also. If you like to watch life go by, one of the finest places to indulge in some people-watching is Piazza Navona where you can enjoy some tantalising pudding and admire the Baroque fountains too.

A trip to Rome would not be conclusive without passing a little time admiring the churches here which are home to many artistic masterpieces. Without doubt, the Vatican itself is a wonder to behold but there are many other churches which are famous and worth a visit. For instance, churches like San Giovanni, San Paolo, Santa Maria with many Byzantine mosaics and particularly San Clemente with three levels of Roman architecture are 1 or 2 must visit sites. Other wonders such as the Baths of Caracalla found at the foot of the Aventine Hill are a good example of social life in traditional times and are worth visiting if you have sufficient time on your hands. With plenty of restaurants found near tourist sites and masses of good accommodation for visitors ; a couple of days in Rome guarantees to be a memorable vacation for you. And why not booking an apartamento roma so that you can enjoy the town by your own way.
