The Weather In Rome

Rome weather varies widely throughout the year, which makes choosing the right month to go a vital part of any vacation plan. The average monthly high temperature is 69 degrees Fahrenheit, according to the World Weather organization. Average highs peak at more than 83 degrees in July and Aug. and bottom in the mid-50s in December, Jan., Feb. and March. Why not stay in a Rome apartment and discover the city in style. The average monthly low temperature -- principally nighttime -- is 51 degrees with a peak of more than 60 degrees in June, July, Aug. and September and a bottom in the upper 30's in Jan. and Feb..

Rainfall also varies widely from month to month. The city averages 2.4 inches of rain and 6 rain days per month. But rain -- mainly rain with infrequently some snow -- shows up more frequently during the city's wet season of October through Jan. Rain totals at least 3 inches every month and hits a high point of more than 4 inches in November. Rain days hit a high point of 10 in Nov also. Rainfall reaches its bottom in June and July, with June seeing 0.6 inches on average and July only a touch more. Rain days average about two per month.

Weather patterns for Rome obviously show the wet season of October through Jan, mixed with low temperatures, is not an ideal time to visit Rome on vacation. Feb and March fare only moderately better as rain begins to decline and temperatures continuously increase. Rome is best visited in May, June and September for anyone who enjoys touring a town with daytime temperatures in the 70s, although rainfall begins to climb in Sep. Any person preferring warmer weather will find that July and Aug. are the warmest months to visit. Rome apartments are the best accommodation in the city and are close to everything you will want to see.
